StopFercusGreetings Earthlings. Remember when we asked you if you wanted to runaway to the FERCus awhile back? Jimmy Betts of Beyond Extreme Energy (BXE) returns to the show to help you make that dream become a reality! As always we also take you for a visit with  the Fool-on-the-Hill, The New Boss and to The Enviro Show Echo Chamber as well as give you the Quote of the Week, but first it’s time for…..Revenge of the Critters! It’s as clear as black & white: wild critters are NOT pets!

We have another multiple! It’s our latest FOOLS-on-the-Hill offering, one that seems to have passed under our radar, interestingly  around Earth Day. Anyway, here it is: 59 members of that august body, the United States Senate voted to deny that humans are causing the Climate Crisis. If it’s any comfort, they did state that global warming exists……but it’s perfectly natural! Feel better? No?

You don’t have to travel far this time for our Quote of the Week (unless you want to hear it in person): “Surely by now there can be few here who still believe the purpose of government is to protect us from the destructive activities of corporations. At last most of us must understand that the opposite is true: that the primary purpose of government is to protect those who run the economy from the outrage of injured citizens.”  ― Derrick Jensen

Breaking News! Would you find it hard to believe the “good corporate citizens” at Kinder Morgan would pay for pro-pipeline shills in your community? Yes? Tune in for updates on the latest astroturf alert! And this: FERC is trying to run BUT they can’t hide (by changing the date of their next “hearing” on the latest fracked gas schemes). Would you like to go to the FERCus on May 14 and see the early show? It’s a 3fer! Finally this: Sen. Stan Rosenberg calls for a second public hearing on the Berk Gas/KM deal (see below for May 26 DPU hearing).

In The Enviro Show Echo Chamber we pass on various notifications of THE worst oil pipeline to date and guess who’s behind it? Did someone say TransCanada? DING! You win! It’s called Energy East and like some proposed fracked gas pipelines we know it’s all about EXPORTS. Here’s a for-what-it’s-worth petition if you want. Time to go to the movies! We have a free double feature in store for you HERE and HERE. Maybe now that you’ve had an earful of bad ideas from a dysfunctional government you’d like a breather? Sorry, there’s more! Enemies of the Planet in Congress want to make it harder for critters to survive, especially on the shoreline where their motorhead friends like to race their ORVs. Tell the National Park Service what you think of that HERE.

This week we find The New Boss dragging his foot on fossil fuel infrastructure safety. He REALLY needs to appoint a new boss for the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (you know, the person who oversees all those exploding trains and pipelines?). Actually some of his potential choices aren’t half bad. Just do it, Boss!
