Halloween Greetings Earthlings. No, the title isn’t a misspelled reference to both our Facebook pages (that we can’t rectify ‘cuz apparently there are no humans running FB), it’s referring to our favorite witch, that being The Good Green Witch who will join us for an extended visit just a few days from Samhain, a time, when the spirits more easily come into our world. Offerings of food and drink are left for them. The souls of the dead are also thought to revisit their homes. We’ll also revisit our Fool-on-the-Hill as well as The Enviro Show Echo Chamber, but first it’s time for………….Revenge of the Critters! Fanged cannibalistic spiders take down barbecue!
Our Fool-on-the-Hill this week is a repeat offender. Arch enemy of the planet, Repugnican Marco Rubio has a plan! According to our friends at Grist “here are some highlights directly from Rubio’s energy platform: Immediately Approve the Keystone XL Pipeline; Immediately Lift the 1970s-Era Ban on Crude Exports, and Expedite Approval of American Natural Gas Exports” Way to go, Rubio! Your masters will be proud.
In The Enviro Show Echo Chamber we start out echoing The Good Green Witch’s latest projects like Discover Womyn Rising where you’re invited on Facebook to “share and discuss the issues facing not just women, but all of humanity. Hate will not be tolerated. It’s OK to be angry, it is not ever OK to direct that at another. Come. Learn. Talk. We have work to do.” Also on FB she’s initiated freeproductive, a project “ensuring people all over the world have the freedom over their own reproduction.” That works! Recall our recent show on overpopulation? Elsewhere in the Chamber we find climate crusader Bill McKibben getting busted for shutting down gas pumps! Trick or treat! Wait, we actually do have a treat! We liked this headline: “Smarter forest and land-use policy could help make Paris climate deal a success” from Grist. Ya’ think?? How about a little Pulp Fiction for Halloween? Finally, our Blog Bonus Action Special is HERE!
Here comes our Quote of the Week and right on the….um…mark? (and locally grown!)

Breaking News! Bernie calls for DOJ investigation of Exxon/Mobil! This Breaking News is already broken but it’s ongoing. The Harper Disaster in Canada is finally over and the new kid on the block is looking soooo much better. Inside Climate News reports: “Trudeau and the Liberal Party released their proposed climate policy in February. The plan calls for a national carbon pricing policy and promises to work with Canadian provincial leaders to create a climate action plan following the treaty talks in Paris. He has also called for more stringent environmental reviews of pipeline applications, specifically to factor in a project’s climate impact.[our emphasis] The plan also calls for phasing out fossil fuel subsidies, expanding renewable energy and establishing a $2 billion fund for clean energy projects. Trudeau does, however, support the Keystone XL pipeline project”. For the moment, we trust!
How about a little E-Valley-uation? Remember late October 2012? Where were you when Hurricane Sandy came on October 29 to add a certain…um…chill to Halloween?
