We Meet the New Boss in the immediate wake of all that COP21 happy talk signing off on lifting the decades old ban on crude oil exports. Thanks Boss! You just kicked your legacy to the curb. So much for “energy independence” and all that talk about leaving some of it in the ground. Now Big Oil can sell off all the family jewels! Here’s how some of our enviro friends responded. This week’s Fool-on-the-Hill allows us to use the same Bloomberg news piece above twice (how’s that for energy conservation!). In the article we find [Repugnican] Representative Ann Wagner of Missouri [saying] the proposal to lift the crude oil export ban “is huge” and would have a “much bigger” effect than building the Keystone XL pipeline. Asked whether she planned to vote for the [disastrous] fiscal legislation, she said, “You bet I am.” We bet you’re one big fool too, Ann!
In The Enviro Show Echo Chamber we find 2016 is set to be….guess what? Yes, you are correct! The hottest ever! Are you listening Ann Wagner? President Obama? Anyone?? Why stop there: November was the hottest ever too! (According to NASA’s Land-Ocean Temperature Index). We were thinking of filing this one under Fool-on-the-Hill but none of these clowns have been elected to congress….yet. In the town of Woodland, North Carolina Bobby Mann claimed that proposed solar panels would … “suck up all the energy from the sun.”……..um……ok……Save the Sun!! Speaking of crazy, how about the massive long-term methane leak at Porter Ranch in California? Erin Brockovich reports “Porter Ranch Gas Leak a Catastrophe Not Seen Since the BP Oil Spill”. Finally, remember our celebrations on the closing of Vermont Yankee? Now, the town fathers in Vernon are looking to go with Kinder Morgan. What’s wrong with Vernon??
